OFI Highlights Importance of Ocean for Canada's Net Zero Carbon Policy

One of OFI's key focus areas for informing policy is Net Zero Carbon, which closely aligns with the priorities of the Canadian Government.

To highlight the critical role of the ocean in carbon storage, OFI Scientific Director & CEO Anya Waite, and OFI researchers Brad deYoung, Chris Milley, and Ian Stewart, published an article in The Conversation. In it, the team emphasizes that policy decisions on Net Zero Carbon must consider the ocean's ability to absorb and store carbon - something often left out of national climate change policies.
